Berlin Victory Column

The Victory Column (Siegessäule) is a monument in Berlin, erected in 1873 (inauguration) to commemorate the Prussian victory in the Danish-Prussian War. Since Prussia had also defeated Austria in the Austro-Prussian War (1866) and France in the Franco-Prussian War (1870–71), in 1873,the statue also remembers those victories.

Victoria, the figure, is 8.3 metres high, and is also known as “Goldelse”.
