Barcelos II
Here is another shot taken in Barcelos. This image was just a bit edited using Photoshop CS3, but not too much, just to remove some noise in the corner of the picture.
It looks aged, old, like if it was thirty years old. I look at it and think “Like in 1985″, though I had never been to Barcelos before – and I was born in 1985.
I guess this explains it all. ![]()

Barcelos - bridge connecting Barcelos and Barcelinhos
Barcelos
As I wrote yesterday, I spent the last weekend in Barcelos, on a peaceful, restful prime time.
I leave you with some shoots from the town and the river Cávado, hoping it makes you want to go there for a moment as well.
Feel free to comment!
All the best,
Alda
P.S. – I’m searching for a 50mm f/1.4 lens for my Canon 400D. It’s a pretty expensive lens and I’d like to know if there’s any place where I can get it cheaper. I have searched for it online and offline, but the prices are pretty muhc the same: between 320€ and 400€. If some one can help me here, I’d appreciate! Thanks!
Went travelling…
This time to Barcelos, not too far from Porto.
I haven’t checked my pictures yet, but I’m pretty sure that I’ll get at least one or two to post here sometime soon!
Cheers!
Aching Heart
More from yesterday.
We made that pinned heart out of a necklace. It was really cute, I’d wear it if it didn’t sting me bad ![]()
Joana Ribeiro
Here’s just a bit of what I’ve been doing with my friend Joana yesterday afternoon.
More to come!

Back shooting
Today I went back shooting with a friend of mine, something I haven’t done in quite a while. While at home – since I am unemployed from a full-time job, I mean – I have lots of time to spend with whatever I feel like to.
I have been craving to shoot portraits for weeks now (ok, let’s make it months) and today I felt so happy to have the opportunity of doing it.
As I said, I went with a friend and shot her (I can’t avoid smilling at the expression “to shoot someone”…). We based a session on Tim Burton’s book The melancholy death of Oyster Boy and other stories. We both love this book; we both appreciate Tim Burton’s work.
We will do another session on this subject soon, as we have more ideas to develop (yes, I said we, because she helps me too).
So, you can wait for some pictures from today’s session sometime soon.
Cheers and hear you soon!

Black and White photography, specially using film, is a must for me every now and then. I may take a while until I shoot a whole 36-photo film, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t like it. In fact, I love it.
I love the sound of my camera shooting, I love all the stories it could tell, I get stunned by it. It’s so simple.
Enjoy it. *
Food Photography – a comeback
What about a spree? Some kind of feast?
I went back to food photography a couple weeks ago. I do need to get more experience on the field, but i still love it more than I can possibly tell at the moment. It’s quite a challenge! Not getting the best conditions to shoot makes it an even bigger challenge, as I have to figure out how to improve what I have (which is not good nor even enough for an amateur shot, sometimes).
As soon as I get more used to this, I will be posting examples here.
Cheers, everyone!
S. Pedro do Sul
Recently, I went for a weekend trip to S. Pedro do Sul. I didn’t shoot that much, unfortunately (only about 60 pictures for a 3-day long journey), but some of the photos are kinda nice. Not impressive photography, though, but I liked some results. And the place is worth visiting (I’ve been there last week, there’s a post on that) and I still want to go back there again sometime later.
Here’s a “sneak pic” of it.

S. Pedro do Sul, Viseu, Portugal
Cheers!
